Contractor Services for Cooling System Upgrade at Whitehorse Correctional Centre

The Government of Yukon, through the Department of Highways and Public Works, is soliciting bids for contractor services to upgrade the cooling system at the Whitehorse Correctional Centre located at 25 University Drive, Whitehorse. This stipulated price contract, based on the CCDC 2 2020 framework and governed by the laws of Yukon, involves comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and structural upgrades. The scope of work includes the installation of LG heat pumps, Trane chillers, Grundfos pumps, and Axiom glycol feed systems, as well as necessary power distribution to new HVAC equipment and structural modifications compliant with applicable building codes. Bids will be evaluated primarily on price, with potential bid value reductions available for registered Yukon First Nation businesses. Requirements for bidders include a bid bond of at least 10 percent of the total bid price and a consent of surety for performance and labour and material payment bonds, each totaling at least 50 percent of the contract value. Due to the nature of the facility, all contractor personnel must obtain WCC security clearance prior to site access. Payments are processed within 28 calendar days following the receipt of a certificate for payment, subject to a 5 percent performance holdback and compliance with the Financial Administration Act of Yukon.
