The Internal Revenue Service plans to award a sole source contract to Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. for copier hard drive disposal services under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2) as implemented by FAR 6.302. The contract will involve servicing approximately 1500 copiers by inspecting and removing all hard drives before releasing the copiers to the contractor at the end of each lease term. The contract period includes an initial eight-month base period with an option to extend for an additional twelve months. Konica Minolta is already an existing contractor supporting IRS locations nationwide, which supports the justification for a sole source award. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations, and no solicitation will be issued. All interested Treasury contractors must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration database before award execution. The contract is expected to be awarded within five days from the notice issuance dated January 31, 2012, and the notice closes on February 2, 2012, at 2:00 pm EST. The contracting officer for this procurement is Letitia DuPree, who can be contacted for further information.
