THE SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING CONVERSION AND REPAIR NEWPORT NEWS VIRGINIA, INTENDS TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER/CONTRACT TO EMS ICE, INC; 513 BONSACK COURT, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23322 FOR THE CRYOGENIC (DRY ICE) CLEANING OF EIGHT (8) VENTILATION SYSTEMS ON THE USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) AT THE NAVAL OPERATIONS BASE, NORFOLK VA. THIS PROCUREMENT WAS AWRDED UNDER THE FAR PARA 6.302-2 UNUSUAL AND COMPELLING URGENCY. OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION AS AUTHORIZED UNDER FAR 6.302-1. THE AWARD DATE IS ANTICIPATED TO BE AUGUST 14, 2003. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE AND TELEPHONE OR FAX OR E-MAIL REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED ON THE BASIS OF OFFERS RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION NOT TO COMPETE THIS PURCHASE BASED ON THIS NOTICE IS WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT.
