The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services (CSELS) contemplates award of a sole source Firm Fixed Price Order to nexAir LLC for the purchase of 4 each MVE 1879-190F vapor phase high capacity Liquid Nitrogen Freezers (LN2); 2 each MVE Vario 1879P series freezers that are sole source products; and 324 each Aluminum Rack with Locking Rod. This equipment is used to store valuable collections at the CASPIRTM (CDC and ASTDR Specimen Packaging, Inventory & Repository) Facility located in Lawrenceville, GA. The required delivery date is November 1, 2014. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 423740 and Standard Business Size of 100. NexAir LLC is a small business. The sole source award will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) soliciting from a single source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The liquid nitrogen freezers (LN2) have been designed and built just for the CDC. The facility currently uses the same customized freezers. The freezers have a TEC 3000 monitor on them with the ability to communicate with CDC's in-house monitoring system. NexAir LLC is the single distributor of the CDC version freezers for sale and service. CDC model freezers have single solenoid valves. The electronics are setup to take temperature probe A into the freezer and temperature probe B is located in the fill-line to protect against an over-fill situation. The TEC 3000 monitors have special serial ports with 20 MA output for communication as well as single Ethernet outputs. The TEC 3000 also has special programming for the unique alarm and monitoring abilities. The VARIO freezers are new on the market and utilize refrigeration technology. The freezers are vacuum insulated, like LN2 freezers, and have a specialized controller for monitoring. The innovative new technology used for cooling is based on LN2 flowing through a heat exchange system located in the top head of the freezer and the LN2 vaporization energy cools the freezer; specimens are not immersed in LN2, the interior is dry. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation is available; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 7 days after date of publication of this synopsis by sending to contact@example.gov and contact@example.gov . The CDC has determined that nexAir LLC is the only source capable of providing this requirement. Phone calls will not be accepted.
