Full Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Center, Carderock Division intends to award a purchase order for a Deform software maintenance. This supports an ONR sponsored project to develop an Accelerated Insertion of Materials system for Naval applications, calculating the evolution of microstructure and properties. One of the project deliverable is calculate the microstructural evolution during the extrusion and heat treatment of aluminum alloy 6082. The intended source is Scientific Forming Technologies Corporation. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open than competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. It is not feasible to have another source provide this item because Scientific Forming Technologies Corporation is the only known supplier. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties shall submit a capabilities statement which will be considered by this agency at the following email address: contact@example.gov Responses are due by 12:00 on 15 June 2010.
