The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to award a contract to IP Fabrics, Inc. for the procurement of the DeepSweep-1 Network Surveillance System, designed to support CALEA compliance in internet case investigations. This contract exceeds $25,000 and follows federal regulations that allow for a sole-source procurement due to the proprietary nature of the IP Fabrics hardware and software, which no other vendor can provide. The DEA has determined that no alternative manufacturers offer a product with the same functionality as the DeepSweep-1, making IP Fabrics the only responsible source capable of supplying this critical technology. This action is classified under NAICS code 541511 and originates from the Department of Justice Headquarters located in Springfield, Virginia. The sole-source justification is in alignment with FAR 6.302-1, which permits such awards when only one responsible source is available. The point of contact for this contract is Troy T. Teachey, reachable via phone or email. The procurement aims to enhance the DEA's capabilities in wire-speed data collection for investigative activities, ensuring that the agency has access to cutting-edge surveillance technology necessary for effective law enforcement operations.
