AI Contract Overview
The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services is managing the transition of data communications products and services contracts as contract 05819 expires on September 30, 2026. To prevent service interruptions, the state is moving away from RFXPremier due to procurement code restrictions and will instead execute Participating Addenda through Sourcewell, a Minnesota-led cooperative, effective October 1, 2026. Additionally, Washington State plans to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the state of Montana to facilitate these procurement needs. The state is currently negotiating with several key vendors to ensure continuity, including Cisco, Ericsson, Extreme Networks, Fortinet, HPE/Juniper, IBM, Ruckus, and Palo Alto. This transition follows an extensive period of market research, requests for information, and vendor feedback sessions conducted throughout 2025 and 2026. Kasey Brown serves as the Procurement Coordinator for this high-risk solicitation process.
