Demolition of Ram Auto Building at 458360 Grey Rd 11

The Municipality of Meaford has issued Invitation to Tender TS-2026-21 for the complete demolition and site restoration of the Ram Auto Building located at 458360 Grey Rd 11. The scope of work includes the removal of the abandoned auto shop, foundations, footings, concrete slabs, and automotive equipment, as well as the clearing of brush, overgrown vegetation, and miscellaneous debris. The contractor is responsible for the lawful off-site disposal of all materials, as burning or burying waste on-site is strictly prohibited. Final deliverables include rough grading and blending the site into the surrounding property to ensure it is left in a clean, safe, and stable condition. Bids must be submitted electronically by September 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time. A mandatory site visit was required for compliance, and bidders must provide a current WSIB Clearance Certificate upon award. The contractor is required to maintain general liability insurance of at least 5 million dollars per occurrence and name the Municipality of Meaford as an additional insured. Evaluation of bids will occur in three stages, focusing on compliance and pricing, with the Municipality reserving the right to reject unbalanced or front-loaded pricing and consider the bidder's past performance. Additional requirements include obtaining necessary permits, such as those from the Niagara Escarpment Commission, and reporting any discovered hazardous materials or buried tanks to the Municipality.
