Wash & Rewash Valve Replacement

The Municipality of Meaford has issued Invitation to Tender ES-2025-13 for the removal and replacement of existing wash and rewash butterfly valves, associated actuators, electrical connections, and controls at the Meaford Water Treatment Plant. The successful contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and testing to complete the work. Key technical requirements include ensuring all materials in contact with drinking water are NSF certified and that installations comply with the National Building Code, the Ontario Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Ministry's Watermain Disinfection Procedure. All new equipment must be properly tagged and identified in coordination with the existing facility system. The project is anticipated to start in November 2026, pending valve lead times, and will be awarded to the lowest compliant bidder. Performance is subject to strict scheduling constraints, requiring work to be completed within a five-day shutdown window for each side of the system, with a minimum two-week waiting period between sides to ensure the system returns to service by the weekend. Bidders must have attended a mandatory site visit on September 15, 2026, and must maintain five million dollars in comprehensive general liability insurance. Additionally, a ten percent evaluation advantage is granted to the bidder with the highest proportion of Ontario-made goods and services.
