Denbigh Landfill Grounds Maintenance and Mowing Services

The City of Newport News, Virginia, is soliciting bids for recurring grounds maintenance and mowing services at the Denbigh Landfill. The project involves the maintenance of approximately 79 acres of vegetated final cover to ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Environmental Quality post-closure care requirements. The selected contractor will be responsible for maintaining vegetation height between 6 and 12 inches, with an estimated 3 to 5 mowing cycles per year, while monitoring and reporting site issues such as erosion, settlement, or woody vegetation. To protect the landfill cap and infrastructure, contractors must utilize specialized low-ground-pressure and slope-mowing equipment rated for slopes up to 3H:1V.
