Double Weir Unit 1 Refurbishment

The Imperial Irrigation District is seeking the refurbishment of the 180 kW vertical hydraulic turbine generator unit (Unit 1) at the Double Weir Hydroelectric Facility located near Calexico, California. This forecast project, identified under NAICS code 811310, aims to restore hydraulic performance and extend equipment life by replacing internal mechanical components that are approaching the end of their service life. The scope of work includes a complete overhaul of the wicket gate assembly, the installation of a new stainless-steel lined runner chest, and the renewal of all associated cartridges, sleeves, bushings, and locking hardware. All work will be performed within the existing facility footprint with no physical expansion or change to the original 180 kW generation capacity. Major equipment and replacement components are to be supplied by the Original Equipment Manufacturer and installed by IID hydroelectric maintenance personnel.
