The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District, in support of the Defense Health Agency, is planning the construction of the Akeroyd Blood Donor Center at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This project will be executed as a Progressive Design-Build (PDB) effort under Other Transaction Authority (OTA) pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2808a, meaning it is not subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The scope involves the creation of a 15,750 gross square foot facility designed to support 60 to 80 daily blood donations, featuring specialized areas for reception, screening, donation, recovery, processing, testing, shipping, and administration.
