This contract involves the procurement of two Elevation (EL) motor/brake assemblies for the X-Band radar system used in the classified GLOBUS Joint Program, which is maintained and operated by specialized personnel at an overseas site. The assemblies, part number 53983-12-3500-02, are critical components of the Pedestal Control System (PCS) that manage the radar's rotational movement. Each motor/brake assembly includes a high-inertia motor with specific horsepower and RPM characteristics, paired with a brake system that must undergo a proprietary modification to ensure electrical and mechanical readiness for field installation. This modification is crucial to prevent catastrophic failures and is proprietary to CPI, highlighting the specialized and sensitive nature of the equipment involved. Logistical and technical support for this program is provided by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/ESGS) at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. The solicitation number for this combined-type contract is FA850726QB007, with a response deadline at the end of June 2026. The contracting agency operates under the Department of Defense and handles no set-aside provisions for this procurement. Key contacts for this acquisition are personnel based at Robins AFB, including Brandon Jones and Jessica Roberts. This procurement supports the operational integrity of a high-priority defense radar system requiring precise, tested components supplied within a defined timeline.

GLOBUS is a classified Joint Program. Maintenance and operation is performed at the OCONUS site by personnel Azimuth (AZ) Motor/Brake Assembly XB Radar System employed by the Joint partner. The missions are of a highly specialized nature, utilizing specialty type equipment and requiring highly trained personnel. The organization for logistical and technical support is AFLCMC/ESGS at Robins AFB GA. This requirement is for the purchase of two (2) EL motor/brake assembly for the X-Band Radar P/N 53983-12-3500-02.

The Pedestal Control System (PCS) supports the rotational movement of the radar system. The PCS is composed of the
servo controls and drive motor/brake assemblies. The EL Motor/Brake Assembly consists of (brake pre-wiring, clamp
collar and motor installation) which must be fully tested after assembly to guarantee it meets specification
requirements. The motor/brake assembly P/N 53983-12-3500-02 consists of a motor (HP: 30, RPM 2500 with tach, high inertia) and a brake P/N 53983-12-4601-02 (125 ft-lb, 120 VAC, 50Hz, 256TC, HORZ). The Brake Assembly Modification
(P/N 53983-12-4600-01) is required prior to field installation for the GLOBUS X-Band Subsystem and is proprietary. The brake
must be prepared electrically and mechanically to the specs in the Brake Assembly Modification to avoid catastrophic failure
and damage. The assembly design is propreitary to CPI.
