Full Description
GLOBUS is a classified Joint Program. Maintenance and operation is performed at the OCONUS site by personnel Azimuth (AZ) Motor/Brake Assembly XB Radar System employed by the Joint partner. The missions are of a highly specialized nature, utilizing specialty type equipment and requiring highly trained personnel. The organization for logistical and technical support is AFLCMC/ESGS at Robins AFB GA. This requirement is for the purchase of two (2) EL motor/brake assembly for the X-Band Radar P/N 53983-12-3500-02.
The Pedestal Control System (PCS) supports the rotational movement of the radar system. The PCS is composed of the
servo controls and drive motor/brake assemblies. The EL Motor/Brake Assembly consists of (brake pre-wiring, clamp
collar and motor installation) which must be fully tested after assembly to guarantee it meets specification
requirements. The motor/brake assembly P/N 53983-12-3500-02 consists of a motor (HP: 30, RPM 2500 with tach, high inertia) and a brake P/N 53983-12-4601-02 (125 ft-lb, 120 VAC, 50Hz, 256TC, HORZ). The Brake Assembly Modification
(P/N 53983-12-4600-01) is required prior to field installation for the GLOBUS X-Band Subsystem and is proprietary. The brake
must be prepared electrically and mechanically to the specs in the Brake Assembly Modification to avoid catastrophic failure
and damage. The assembly design is propreitary to CPI.
