The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), pursuant to authority granted under California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20, Sec. 66270.61, has issued an Emergency Permit to EMD Millipore Sigma Company, (EPA ID# CAR000301093) to treat hazardous waste through a controlled reaction with a chemical solution. Specifically, fourteen (14) 4-liter containers and one (1) 500-milliliter container of Ethyl Ether; twenty-three (23) 100-milliliter containers and forty-six (46) 25-milliliter containers of Diethyl Ether; one (1) 1-liter container of Tetrahydrofuran; two (2) 250-milliliter containers and three (3) 1-liter containers of Ethyl Vinyl Ether; and six (6) 500-milliliter containers of Styrene must be stabilized prior to transport to an authorized hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility. These chemicals are currently being stored at EMD Millipore Sigma Company located at 8511 West Riggin Avenue, Visalia, California 93291.
