The State of Ohio, via its Department of Administrative Services, is soliciting bids for the supply of new model year 2025 or newer cab and chassis vehicles for operational use across state agencies and political subdivisions. The vehicles must be the manufacturer’s latest production models, never titled, and come fully equipped with all standard equipment in addition to meeting detailed safety and regulatory standards. The contract encompasses two primary vehicle types: a conventional cab with a 24-foot van body and a 26,000 lb. gross vehicle weight rating, and a regular cab with a 16-foot van body and a 16,500 lb. gross vehicle weight rating. Both vehicles require gas or diesel engines, automatic transmissions, and specified minimum horsepower (320 HP for the larger, 350 HP for the smaller). Other notable requirements include manufacturer’s standard warranty, compliance with all transportation and emissions regulations, detailed payload and fuel tank specifications to be established by the bidders, and adherence to federal and state mandates for safety features. The contract period is set from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with the possibility of renewal. Delivery locations will be determined based on the ordering agencies within Ohio. Only licensed dealers within the state, able to furnish proof of their authorized status and compliance with applicable sales and safety laws, are eligible to bid. Amendments to the solicitation have updated vehicle specification forms and deadlines, reflecting changes in requirements and line item numbering. The contract’s estimated value ranges from $5 million to $15 million, and the terms stress the need for timely delivery and strict adherence to all specifications for safety and operational capability.
