AI Contract Overview

SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking to procure uniforms for its environmental services departments through a competitive process limited to New York State-certified small businesses. The contract, which has a two-year duration and a potential value between $50,000 and $200,000, emphasizes the importance of local vendors within walking distance of the Syracuse campus. The selected vendor must demonstrate experience supplying uniforms to similarly sized hospitals, provide on-site sizing for new employees, and maintain stock for immediate distribution. The procurement process is governed by strict compliance with New York State laws, including restrictions on contact during the bidding process and requirements for submitting current NYS Workman's Compensation, Disability Forms, and vendor responsibility documentation. The project does not set aside specific goals for minority, women, service-disabled veteran, or disadvantaged-owned businesses, and there is no preference for these categories. Interested vendors are encouraged to respond by February 7, 2025, and should contact Daniel Nagle, the designated Purchase Associate, for further details. Past contracts similar to this have been awarded to Vanybel Uniforms LLC, and the procurement aims to ensure the provision of uniforms that meet the hospital’s operational needs with a focus on local, compliant, and experienced vendors.
