Santa Clara Valley Water District (Santa Clara) proposes to exchange up to 75,000 acre-feet of Santa Claras Central Valley Project (CVP) water supplies with State Water Project (SWP) water supplies. The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) will deliver up to 75,000 acre-feet of SWP water supplies to Santa Clara from Banks Pumping Plant to Santa Claras turnout(s) in Reach 9 of the South Bay Aqueduct. In exchange, the U.S. Department of the Interiors Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) will make an equal amount of Santa Claras CVP water available to DWR at ONeill Forebay. DWR will deliver the CVP water to SWP service areas south of ONeill Forebay. This exchange is covered under the 2025-2026 Consolidated Place of Use Order, approved by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) on July 21, 2025. The SWRCBs approval is effective July 22, 2025 through July 21, 2026.
