Cornell University is seeking qualified consultants to lead the design and construction services for the expansion of the New York State Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (NYSVDL) and Animal Health Diagnostic Center (AHDC) located on its Ithaca campus. The project aims to create additional laboratory and office space to accommodate the rapidly increasing caseload, which has grown by over 90% since the original facility was built in 2010. The new space will include BSL-2 laboratories, offices, storage areas, and touch-down spaces, consolidating operations currently dispersed across multiple buildings to improve efficiency, biosafety, and security. The scope of services encompasses all project phases from schematic design through construction administration, with an estimated completion date of August 2028. The procurement emphasizes diversity and inclusion, requiring the consultant to make good faith efforts to include MWBE and SDVOB firms and to provide a staffing list for subconsultants.
