The contractor will provide a complete solution for the RPC's rooftop, encompassing design, supply, and installation services for a non-penetrating raised warning line and guardrail system. This includes all necessary fall arrest and restraint equipment, and training for end-users on the safe use of the installed system.
Specific requirements include: The entire roof top perimeter of the facility with flat top roofing, excluding portions of all internal courtyards, are maintained with a (non-penetrating) raised warning line. This line will be located a minimum of 2.0 Meter from each edge per regulatory requirements. Any areas where the 2.0 Meters Control Zone limits the travel way, where it does not exist, or where razor wire exists and work tasks are to be undertaken, a section of permanent non-penetrating guardrail system, is installed.
1. Design a compliant, non-penetrating safety system adheres to Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations SOR/86-304, CSA Z259.18:19, and CSA Z259.17:16 (R2020), following CSC's approval.
2. Supply all materials and install a compliant, non-penetrating option for working safely on the roof of the Regional Psychiatric Centre (RPC), covering approximately 5200 feet of rooftop edge.
3. Supply and install all necessary materials.
4. Create and maintain an up-to-date project schedule.
5. Provide their own equipment, tools, and safety equipment. Including any lifts, scaffolding etc. that are required.
6. Dispose of all waste during construction off site and return the surrounding area to pre-work conditions upon completion.
7. Contractor to fully commission the system.
8. Complete a walkthrough with CSC personnel to ensure work has been completed satisfactorily.
9. Fall Arrest and/or Restraint Equipment Supply: Provide all necessary fall arrest and/restraint equipment required for safe work within the designated control zones on the roof. This equipment must meet or exceed all current safety standards and regulations for all protection.
10. User Training: Contractor must be a Fall Protection Training Provider and provide end user training for the complete system, including portable anchor installation and use for access inside the control zones.
