Kennett Township is seeking proposals from qualified architectural and engineering firms to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study regarding potential improvements and expansion options for its municipal building located at 801 Burrows Run Road in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The current facility, built in 2003 and covering 9,700 square feet, serves approximately 8,300 residents and houses administrative staff, police personnel, and public meeting space. Due to space constraints, particularly for staffing and police operations, the Township is exploring three primary options: expanding the existing building, constructing a new supplemental building on the current site, or developing a new facility on a different location. The project aims to assess the feasibility of these options to determine the most effective solution for accommodating current and future needs. The solicitation, posted on July 1, 2024, under PennBid with solicitation number 145061, invites qualified firms to submit proposals by August 6, 2024. The contract is expected to be valued between $50,000 and $150,000 and is managed by Kennett Township, part of Chester County, Pennsylvania. The selected firm will be responsible for evaluating the technical, logistical, and financial aspects of each expansion scenario, ultimately guiding the Township’s decision-making process for potential building modifications or new construction to better serve its administrative and police functions.
