AI Contract Overview
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to award a sole-source five-year fiber optic lease to the City of Albuquerque to maintain uninterrupted network connectivity for TSA operations at the Albuquerque International Sunport. The contract requires six strands of multi-mode fiber optic cable to support IT and End User Services Division needs in TSA-occupied facilities, and it will be executed under Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b)(2) as a non-competitive action. The base period is one year with four optional one-year extensions, totaling five years of service. This action is categorized as an 8(a) Sole Source procurement, indicating it is targeted toward a small disadvantaged business concern, with the City of Albuquerque identified as the sole provider eligible to fulfill this specific requirement. Interested parties may submit technical capability documentation by July 9, 2026, to demonstrate why competitive procurement would benefit the government, but responses are strictly limited to two pages and must be emailed to the designated TSA point of contact. All submissions must be provided at no cost or obligation to the government and will be evaluated solely to determine if competition is warranted; no formal solicitation or quotation requests are issued. The government retains full discretion to proceed with the sole-source award regardless of submissions. Vendors seeking subcontracting opportunities are directed to contact the airport directly, as this procurement does not include an open competitive process.
