The announcement serves as an advanced notice for members of the Vertical Lift Consortium (VLC) and industry stakeholders about an upcoming industry day focused on the Fixed Wing Utility Aircraft (FUA) Prototype Flight Demonstration. Scheduled for April 24, 2018, in Huntsville, Alabama, this event organized by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office - Aviation Fixed Wing Program Office is intended solely for planning and informational purposes, not as a solicitation for proposals or project awards. Activities during the event will include discussions and Q&A regarding the FUA initiative, a networking lunch, and government one-on-one meetings available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested participants can request these meetings via email. The FUA project aims to develop and demonstrate a fixed-wing utility aircraft by integrating a mission equipment package on a commercial derivative aircraft, with the goal of meeting specific mission system requirements through a prototype flight demonstration. This prototype will be used to assess technical feasibility, production viability, and applicability for military use. Following this industry day, a formal Request for Prototype Proposal (RPP) will be issued exclusively to VLC members through the Consortium’s administrative agent, Advanced Technology International (ATI). The contract details identify the solicitation number, the organizing department of defense office, and contact information for further inquiries, emphasizing that participation in this event is restricted to VLC members only.
