The scope of work for this project is the provision of construction activities for the Floating Dock Reconstruction at L’Anse au Loup, NL, as is more specifically described below and in the Drawings and Specifications, subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract. In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: 1. Clean-up debris and removal of the existing spilled gabion rock, prior to installation of new filter stone, as indicated on the drawings. 2. Complete removal and disposal of the existing headblock crib, including handrailing, as indicated on the drawings. Existing gangway flip plate and connection bracket to be salvaged and reused in the new work. 3. Temporarily disconnect, remove, and reinstate/extend existing electrical Teck cables, as indicated on the drawings. 4. Reconstruction of eight (8) existing floating docks, as indicated on the drawings. Existing HDPE pontoons, HDPE bands, gap flip plates, aluminum arm brackets, and L-shaped brackets to be salvaged and reused in the new work. All existing timber and other miscellaneous material/hardware to be removed and disposed of. Reconstruct floating docks with new timber, hardware and all other material as detailed on the drawings. Contractor will be responsible to remove all fourteen (14) docks from their location in the water. The docks shall be stored in the uplands area, at a location approved by the Departmental Representative and not reinstalled. 5. Replace existing damaged floating dock HDPE bands with new steel bands, as detailed on the drawings. 6. Installation of new filter stone, as indicated on the drawings. 7. Construction of a new treated timber headblock crib with timber beams, decking and handrailing, to dimensions as indicated on the drawings. Cribseat excavation, as required, to facilitate placement of crib to elevations shown on the drawings. 8. Installation of new rock fill and granulars, as shown on the drawings.
