Foresthill High School Hazardous Fuels Removal and Maintenance

Placer County Resource Conservation District will undertake hazardous fuels removal and maintenance work on a 40-acre unit surrounding Foresthill High School to enhance fire resilience and protect the school community. The project involves the selective removal of trees and brush with diameters under 12 inches, followed by controlled pile burning to reduce flammable vegetation and lower fire risk during high-severity conditions. This effort is designed to directly improve the safety of faculty, staff, and students by creating a more defensible space around the school campus. The work is part of a broader strategy to manage wildfire threats in the area and aligns with regional fire prevention goals.
