The High Level Forest Area has identified of approximately 12.4 hectares (Block 1) and 1.3 hectares (Fireguard) of retreatment adjacent to the community of Hutch Lake Cabins. All 13.7 hectares, first treatment was completed in 2018, will be treated through mechanical mulch, hand falling and pruning. The proposed blocks encompass fuels that have been identified as a risk to the community that can be mitigated through fuel modification treatments. The contract will be all-inclusive disposal of targeted woody debris in a way that meets project timelines and standards. The work will require a combination of hand crews (chain saws) and suitable mechanized mulching equipment. Treatment area is in Legal Land 07 32 TWP112 Rge18 W5 and can be accessed from HWY35, North of High Level. (See attached map)
