The Government of Canada, through Forestry and Parks, is seeking vendors to provide Swamp Mats and/or Rig Mats to support wildfire operations across Alberta, including fire camps, staging areas, access routes, and helibases. Vendors must submit detailed rate structures for two distinct services: delivery and retrieval per mat, which includes site scouting, supervision, setup, and removal within a single day, along with all required equipment and personnel; and a daily rental rate per mat for the duration of use once installed. Delivery costs must be specified either by the hour or per kilometer, and vendors are expected to detail all equipment necessary for unloading, arranging, setting up, and removing the mats from the worksite. The contract focuses on rapid response capabilities, requiring vendors to estimate setup timelines under both standard and emergency conditions to ensure timely deployment during active wildfire events. Vendors must be prepared to respond to dynamic operational needs, with all services tailored to support wildfire mitigation efforts in remote and challenging terrain. The solicitation, identified as AB-2026-03875, is open for responses until June 19, 2026, and is classified under NAICS code 532412. Primary contact for inquiries is Kyle G Elliott, Contracting Authority, reachable via email. All materials must be delivered to locations throughout Alberta, and vendors are expected to demonstrate proven experience in supplying and managing heavy-duty mats for temporary infrastructure in hazardous or low-traffic environments. The contract does not specify a minimum quantity but emphasizes readiness, reliability, and the ability to scale operations quickly during escalating wildfire incidents.

Forestry and Parks - Pre-qualification Request - Surge Sustained Action Firetack Crews
Solicitation # AB-2026-02198
The Government of Alberta through its Forestry and Parks division is seeking qualified vendors to pre-qualify as potential providers of Surge Sustained Action Crews to support fire suppression efforts and related field operations when existing Firetack Crew contracts cannot meet demand. This initiative is triggered only when additional resources are needed beyond what is available through standard contractual agreements, and no guarantee of work is provided upon pre-qualification. Successful proponent(s) will be activated through a formal Statement of Work process, under which crews will perform tasks such as fire suppression, brush clearing, firebreak preparation, and other manual labor as directed by provincial authorities. Operations will be conducted entirely within Alberta under the direction of provincial personnel, and all work must align with the specifications and requirements outlined in the issued Statement of Work. The solicitation, numbered AB-2026-02198, was posted on March 16, 2026, with responses due by December 31, 2027. The contracting authority is Wade Klein, who serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries, and all activity is managed under the oversight of the Government of Alberta. Although the solicitation is listed under a federal portal, it is specifically a provincial initiative focused solely on addressing wildfire response needs within Alberta. Pre-qualification does not obligate the province to issue work, and activation will occur strictly based on operational necessity, with priority given to vendors who meet all qualification criteria and are capable of responding promptly to urgent resource requests.
