Full Description

RDECOM has a requirement for full care maintenance contract for Stratasys Software/Hardware Equipment.for equipment located at Advanced Design and Manufacturing (ADM) Division's Rapid Technologies Lab, Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC), Aberdeen Proving Ground (Edgewood Area). The equipment is: Stratasys Fortus 900mc FDM, Stratasys 400mc Large FDM and Object Connex 500. GSA intends to purchase full care maintenance contracts from Stratasys, Inc. Stratasys is the original equipment manufacturer giving them the unique and proprietary information about the function of the equipment. Stratasys is the only source that can perform the maintenance, provide software and updates that are proprietary. It would take substantial duplication of resources and time for another source to provide the requirement maintenance, and this additional expense is not expected to be recovered through competition. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:30 p.m. local time on 05/21/2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811212. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3559. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
