The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a contract to FBscanners, Otto Blehrsvei 54, 1397 Nesoya, Norway (Cage Code: N5446) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, located at MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for maintenance of the KartoScan scanners. Market research has determined that FBscanners is the only source capable of providing the required service as FBscanners is the manufacturer and only company worldwide with the knowledge to perform the maintenance. Therefore, the government intends to procure these software seats on a sole source basis from FBscanners. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
