17-35 REHABILITATION PROJECT AND RELATED CEQA EXEMPTION (DISTRICT: 2) The proposed action consists of approval to advertise and award a construction contract for the Runway 17-35 Rehabilitation Project (project) at Gillespie Field Airport. The project would repair an existing runway pavement through mill and overlay; correct grade variations; improve connector taxiways, shoulders, and lighting; and restripe runway and taxiways pavement. The project will also shorten the runway to meet the Federal Aviation Administrations B-I Small design standards. Existing service roads will be paved to complete a continuous vehicle service route around both runway ends. Work will occur within previously disturbed or paved areas.
