Full Description

Montgomery County has made significant progress towards their NG911 goals during the past few years. In May 2024 the county will be officially migrated to Pennsylvania’s new NG911 call routing system. The county has transformed existing addresses from parcel-centered, single addresses, to the Site Structure Address Points needed for NG911 dispatch. In addition, an Addressing Best Practices Guide and Addressing Toolkit were developed to aid the municipalities in proposing, vetting, and validating addresses that meet the public safety needs of the entire County. Municipal officials were provided with an initial round of support in the use of the tools necessary to develop new, NG911-compliant address data for their own jurisdiction and thus for the whole county. During the previous phases of the project, the county and its previous selected vendor recognized and identified gaps in the address verification process with other County departments. This project will streamline those processes and create better coordination among departments. The Department of Public Safety desires to contract with a consultant to assist the county with identifying gaps/issues with current addressing workflows and developing process and standards to streamline and automate current workflows.
