The principle purpose of this contract is to support the maintenance and development of the GMAO’s Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) model and its application to data assimilation and various scientific studies. The work will include supporting the development and validation of individual model components within the GEOS modeling system; maintenance of the GEOS Diagnostics Package; the development and integration of external components, such as the ocean, sea-ice, and land-ice models within the GMAO’s GEOS modeling and assimilation system.
The GMAO develops, operates, and maintains comprehensive models and data assimilation systems for the Earth’s atmosphere, ocean, land surface and cryosphere, including atmospheric composition and ocean biogeochemistry.
