Full Description

The intent of this contract is to secure forestry-related services for performing hazardous fuels reduction treatments on approximately 100 acres of moderately-dense Jeffrey pine forested lands within the Laguna Mountain Recreation Area located on the Descanso Ranger District, Cleveland National Forest. Treatments will include one or more of the activities: cutting of small diameter trees and shrubs with chainsaws; pruning limbs of residual conifer trees by hand, chainsaw, or pole saw; applying a borax compound to freshly cut coniferous stumps; piling by hand all activity contractor generated cut material; and covering piles with paper. Based on contractor's bid and available funding levels, one optional item is included. If awarded, this item would treat hazardous fuels on an additional 102 acres of mixed-chaparral shrub communities on teh Descanso Ranger District in teh greater Alpin are of eastern San Diego County. Treatments performed by the contractor will include hand cutting of shrubs with chainsaws, hand piling contractor generated cut material; covering piles with paper; and a subsequent foliar application of herbicide to sprouting cut plants during a second entry. The Contractor shall provide everything - including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision - necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government. The Contractor will be required to provide proof of MSPWA certification. A site visit has been scheduled for March 8, 2017. See the section L of the solicitation for details.
