HVAC Renovation Phase 4 - McLeod Building/Bldg S - Downtown Campus

Cape Fear Community College is seeking a qualified Design Build HVAC team for Phase 4 renovations of the McLeod Building (Building S) at its Downtown Campus in Wilmington, North Carolina. The project, funded by New Hanover County Capital Improvement Funds with a total budget of 850,000 dollars, involves selective HVAC upgrades for a seven-story, 114,000 square foot facility. The scope of work includes replacing VAVs, hot water coils, and control dampers on the second floor, as well as replacing DDC controls on ground floor air handlers. Additional requirements include upgrading air handlers from starters to VFDs, installing extended outdoor boiler flues, installing hot water piping from the building riser to VAVs, and replacing associated ceiling grids and tiles. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Award with a response deadline of December 8, 2026, at 3:00 pm. Interested firms must submit three hard copies and one digital copy of their proposal, including a Letter of Interest not exceeding 20 single-sided pages and three copies of Standard Form 254 or SF 330. Evaluation factors for selection include specialized expertise in occupied space renovations, past performance on similar projects, staffing levels, design approach, and a plan for Historically Underutilized Business representation.
