Industry Day - Walk-through Metal Detection and X-ray Equipment

USMS SPECIAL NOTICE Industry Day for Screening Services Classification Code: Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment and Rental and Leasing; Other Electronic And Precision Equipment Repair And Maintenance; Security Systems Services (Except Locksmiths) NAICS Code: 532400; 811219; 561621 Description: The United States Marshals Service (USMS), Judicial Security Division (JSD), Office of Security Contracts (OSC) is hosting an Industry Day for Screening Services. This event will provide an overview of X-ray and walk through metal detection (WTMD) equipment requirements for federal courthouses. Key topics will include: JSD program overview and the future focus of technology initiatives. Background: The JSD is responsible for developing and implementing security systems for the protection of federal courthouses and other judicial facilities. The protection areas include all court-occupied space as well as public lobbies and corridors. Through policy, surveys, and analysis, the Office of Security Systems (OSS) determines the type and quantity of security equipment that will best detect, deter and/or delay threatening activity at all federal court facilities. OSS provides state-of-the-art x-ray and metal detecting equipment which screen visitors and their belongings in addition to mail, parcels and packages. The key objectives of this RFI are for industry to: 1. Define screening future technology for cabinet X-ray Devices and WTMD's; 2. Provide administrative overview of the procurement process; 3. Discuss leasing vs buying opportunities for screening equipment. The purpose of this document is to notify potential sources and conduct market research. Any requests for a solicitation package will be disregarded. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Industry Day event or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of preparing submissions in response to this RFI and the Government's use of such information. There is no bid package or solicitation document associated with this announcement. A Draft Statement of Work for this discussion is in Attachment B and C. Screening Industry Day Information Location: Industry Day for Screening Services will be held at the USMS Headquarters on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, 1:00 pm EST. Logistics: All participants must pass through security screening before entering the building. All participants will be escorted to the conference facility.
