This is a combined synopsis/solicitation being issued under the authority of FAR 13.5.
The Library of Congress (Library) Collections Management Division under Discovery and Preservation Services, Preservation Directorate (DPS/PRES/CMD) requires an Inspection Contractor to provide inventory management support services to the Library of Congress (LC) by assisting with collection inventory projects in multiple formats. This primarily involves inspecting and reviewing data within the LC’s FOLIO system and other databases. The collections to be inspected and reviewed will consist of serials and
monographs as well as special processing materials such as maps, manuscripts, microforms, loose leaf collections, prints and photographs. Serials and monographs may be interfiled, but record updating for each type is done somewhat differently. A key component of this work is data integrity verification for items, which includes confirming the accuracy of all associated bibliographic, holdings, item, and location data in LOC FOLIO system, as well as placing the items in the designated staging areas. Should errors or discrepancies be identified, the Contractor must sort and route the flagged materials to the appropriate LC staff for final resolution. Throughout the execution of all tasks described in the Statement of Work (SOW), the Contractor must ensure that all requirements for both quantity and accuracy are strictly met.
Questions are due no later than 12:00 PM EDT 04/20/2026. Answers to potential offeror questions will be posted as an amendment to the same web page where the solicitation is posted.
