INTELLIGENT SERVICES ARCHITECTURE FOR POINT DEFENSE

The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, under the Technology Transition Office at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is conducting market research through a Request for Information to identify existing intelligent software architectures capable of enabling Point Defense against Group 1-3 unmanned aircraft systems. This effort supports Air Base Air Defense and broader USAF Force Design objectives by seeking autonomous, AI-driven services that can integrate with current defense architectures to deliver adaptable, mission-tailored counter-UAS capabilities without hardware development. Respondents must demonstrate tangible, operational solutions with proven data models and AI agents capable of real-time threat prioritization, multi-sensor fusion, and effector tasking, aligned with Government Reference Architectures and interoperable data standards. All submissions are limited to ten pages in Word or PDF format and must be sent electronically by the specified deadline to designated AFRL contacts, with proprietary information clearly marked—otherwise deemed publicly releasable. The Government will not award a contract based on responses; submissions serve solely as market research inputs to inform future acquisition planning. While no formal contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing, or funding have been established, the government has indicated a rough order of magnitude investment range of $50 million to $100 million for the broader operational challenge.
