AI Contract Overview
The National Institute of Health Clinical Center (NIH-CC) has issued a Notice of Intent to negotiate a sole source contract renewal with MediaLab, Inc. for FedRAMP-certified SaaS licenses. MediaLab has been the compliance tool provider for the Clinical Center for over seven years, managing thousands of documents across five crucial departments including DTM, DLM, CCE, Pharmacy, and Radiology. This system ensures adherence to Federal Document Control and accreditation requirements and supports compliance with federal regulations related to blood product manufacturing and high complexity clinical laboratory testing. The existing solution integrates NIH Single Sign-On with PIV authentication and is FedRAMP approved, minimizing risk and maintaining operational integrity. The sole source justification is based on statutory authority under 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, indicating MediaLab as the only responsible source capable of meeting the agency’s needs. Although this is not a request for proposals, the NIH-CC will consider capability statements submitted by other responsible sources via email by June 16, 2026. The decision whether to proceed with a competition is at the government’s discretion. The contract relates to NAICS code 513210, with performance based in Bethesda, Maryland, under the Department of Health and Human Services.
