Full Description

This is a notice of intent to award an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity(IDIQ) contract to University of Catania (NAICS code 541710). The proposedcontract will be a sole source contract under authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1),Only One Responsible Source (FAR Subpart 6.302-1), for a three-year base periodand two one-year option periods with Firm Fixed pricing structure. The proposedcontract is for services ranging from development and testing work in thelaboratory, to field testing and construction and delivery of prototype sensorsand other hardware components for sensor packages. Specifically, developinginnovative, inexpensive sensors for force protection type applications for theindividual warfighter as well as for facilities and installations. The servicesare in support of the Applied Dynamics Program in the Applied Research Branch,Code 71730. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposalsor quotes and is posted for 15 days from 15 JUL 2008. A determination by theGovernment not to compete based upon response to this notice is solely withinthe discretion of the Government.
