Invitation to Bid - Winter Plowing & Sanding 2026-2027 Season

Bids are being solicited for winter plowing and sanding of all public roads in the Town of Brookline, VT. The bid also includes the removal of snow at the town’s recycling center, Town Hall parking lot and driveway access at the Brookline Meeting House. Bids should be for a fixed price for the full 2026-27 snow season. Other Requirements: • Vendors will need to comply with the town’s request for completed paperwork if awarded the bid. • All bidders should have 2 plow trucks with a spare ready in case of breakdown, a sander to spread salt and sand, and a spare sander ready in case of breakdown. • A bucket loader is needed to load winter sand and salt from the stockpile onto the sander. • Prior to starting work, the selected bidder will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance demonstrating coverage with a total combined general liability policy limit of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence and $4,000,000 aggregate. • The successful bidder will carry Worker’s Compensation insurance in accordance with the laws of the State of Vermont. • Contractor warrants all work performed under this Contract for a period of one year from the date the work is completed and accepted by Municipality. The warranty must be secured either by Contractor’s performance bond or such other security as is acceptable to Municipality. The Selectboard will consider accepting a two year contract for winter plowing and sanding. Both one and two year bids will be accepted with the second year bid price clearly indicated. The Town of Brookline reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the bid it deems most favorable for the Town. Sealed bids will be opened at about 7 PM on October 7, 2026 during a regular Selectboard meeting. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the bid it deems most favorable. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope, clearly marked “Bid for Winter Plowing and Sanding” and delivered to the Town Office by 5 PM on October 7, 2026.
