The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking pre-qualified firms to provide demolition and removal services for improvements, structures, or encumbrances within right-of-way and easement areas in Cherokee County. The solicitation emphasizes that only firms currently holding a valid prequalification certificate for Right of Way Property Management Services issued by GDOT are eligible to bid, with instructions available on the GDOT website. The project aims to identify the lowest, responsible, and responsive bidder based on bid prices, with the contract awarded via a purchase order serving as the Notice to Proceed. The scope of work, detailed in Exhibit I, involves the removal of various improvements within designated right-of-way areas, and bidders must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including anti-collusion, drug-free workplace policies, and conflict of interest laws. Significant updates to the solicitation include the removal of the bid bond requirement and revised performance and payment bond stipulations, which bidders are advised to review thoroughly. The response deadline is October 16, 2025, with bids due by 2:00 PM EST, and late submissions will not be accepted. The procurement process enforces strict communication restrictions, prohibiting contact with GDOT staff or officials during the solicitation period, except through designated channels for questions. GDOT encourages participation from small, minority, and women-owned businesses, setting a 15% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal. This project represents a key component of GDOT’s efforts to maintain and manage its right-of-way infrastructure efficiently.
