The Department of Veterans Affairs, through Contracting Office 15, plans to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price contract to ChemDAQ, Inc. for the provision of commercial maintenance services on Steri-Trac sensors at the St. Louis VA Health Care System. The contract will be awarded under the authority of FAR 8.405-6, which allows for limiting sources when justified. This notice serves as an intent to sole source rather than a solicitation for competitive quotes, and interested parties are invited to submit written evidence by April 19, 2018, demonstrating that competition exists and that a competitive procurement would better serve the government. Responses must be submitted by email; phone inquiries will not be accepted. The contract, identified by solicitation number 36C25518Q0367, relates to NAICS code 532490 and is managed by the 255-NETWORK Contract Office 15 located in Leavenworth, KS. The government will use the information provided to assess if competition is viable and, if so, whether to proceed with soliciting quotations from multiple sources. The contract aims to maintain Steri-Trac sensors, which are likely critical for ensuring patient safety and compliance in the VA healthcare environment. This process illustrates the agency's consideration of limited source justification while providing an opportunity for competitive challenge before finalizing the award.
