The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) plans to add an over and above line item for the base year and each option year under contract N00019-03-D-0013, which was originally awarded to General Electric Engine Services (GEES), Inc. on August 21, 2003. This contract involves the repair of Navy T700-GE-401/401C Engines, Cold Section Modules, Power Turbine Modules, as well as Army Material Command T700-GE-401C Cold Section Modules. The addition of the over and above line item will allow for the completion of necessary repairs that fall within the general scope of the contract but are not covered by the existing basic work line items. The requirement will be negotiated on a sole-source basis with GEES, as it is determined that only one responsible source can fulfill the agency's needs under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B). This contractual mechanism ensures that essential repair work can continue without the need for separate competitive procurements for work closely related to the original contract. The contract is associated with NAICS code 811310, and the Naval Air Systems Command office responsible for this is located in Patuxent River, Maryland. Points of contact for this contract are Gregory J Webster and Emily D Harman, both Contract Specialists.
