Full Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Notice of Intent to Sole Source Elevator Preventive Maintenance Contracts to Kone Elevator, Coastal Elevator and Schindler at the following Veterans Integrated Systems Network (VISN 08) Veteran Administration (VA) Medical Centers within Florida: Bay Pines, Lake City, Miami, Tampa and Gainesville. It is the intent of the VA to award individual sole source firm-fixed price contracts to Kone Elevator, Coastal Elevator and Schindler for the preventative maintenance of the individual medical center's elevators listed above. These sole source contracts will be for a period of six (6) months and will allow the VA sufficient time to properly prepare a new procurement package and solicitation for a new VISN wide contract (multi-year) that will include all locations listed above. These six month contracts will be sole sourced to the current contractor that is performing elevator maintenance at each individual location as the services under their current contract are vital to the Government and must be continued without interruption while a new solicitation is being prepared for the VISN wide contract. The VA fully intends on competing a new solicitation that would include all VISN 8 locations prior to the completion of this 6 month contract. Period of Performance: 1 April 2013 through 30 Sept. 2013, place of performance Gainesville, Lake City, Bay Pines, Miami and Tampa, all located in Florida. NAICS 238290 with a size standard of 100 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AND NO SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED. A determination by the Government not to compete these proposed contracts based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
