The contract involves the procurement of nine centrifugal pump units, identified by NSN 7H-4320-003683186, for repair or modification purposes, with delivery FOB origin to Crane Pumps & Systems Inc. in Piqua, Ohio. The government has determined that acquiring this part competitively to break it out would not result in cost savings over the part’s lifespan. The solicitation, identified by number N0010417PCC76 and issued by the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech office in Mechanicsburg, PA, is a presolicitation notice indicating an intent to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority. Although this is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may express interest or submit proposals within specified timeframes to be considered. The notice also provides information on how interested parties can obtain relevant Military and Federal standards documents through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) and ASSIST-Online platforms, while noting that some documents like patterns and drawings are not stocked there. Responses received will inform the government’s decision on whether to proceed with a competitive procurement. Commercial item offers may be submitted within 15 days despite the government’s non-use of FAR Part 12 policies for this acquisition. This contracting action is managed by the Department of Defense, ensuring compliance with applicable federal acquisition regulations and emphasizing a streamlined procurement process focused on cost-effectiveness and operational needs.
