AI Contract Overview
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division at Joint Base MDL, New Jersey, is pursuing a sole-source fixed-price contract with The Boeing Company, CAGE 22819, to acquire specialized support equipment for the depot-level maintenance and overhaul of the E-2D Hawkeye’s T56-427A engine in support of the Japan E-2D Program. This procurement is justified under FAR 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), citing that only one responsible source exists and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency’s requirements. The solicitation, identified as N68335-26-R-1093, was posted on July 22, 2026, with responses due by August 6, 2026, and participation is contingent upon mandatory registration in the System for Award Management. The deliverables include a range of engineered tooling and fixtures such as compressor and turbine inspection assemblies, balance fixtures, storage boxes, test stands, and alignment tools critical to engine disassembly, repair, and reassembly. While specific pricing details are fragmented, individual items range from approximately $300 to $294,000, with no total contract value publicly stated. Delivery and performance are centered at Joint Base MDL, New Jersey, though end-use may involve Japanese depot facilities. The equipment must conform to military logistics standards using Federal Supply Class codes, National Item Identification Numbers, and Contractor Assignment Group codes, although explicit adherence to MIL-STDs like 129, 2073, or 130 is not documented. Inspection and acceptance procedures are inferred to occur at depot locations, supported by specialized Go/No-Go gages and checking fixtures, though no formal inspection criteria or acceptance authority is specified. No contract clauses, evaluation factors, payment details, invoicing methods, or contracting officer contacts are provided in the notice, reflecting a presolicitation stage focused solely on industry input for a non-competitive award.
