The U.S. Department of Labor intends to award a sole source contract to International Union of Operating Engineers National Training Fund, 1125 17th Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20036. The statutory authority permitting acquisition of this requirement by other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C253(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The requirement is to provide basic Career Technical Training and Placement Services in Transportation for the Job Corps Program. Job Corps is a national training program that provides comprehensive academic, residential and career technical training services to more than 60,000 disadvantaged youth each year at 125 Job Corps Centers nationwide. The requirement is as follows: 1.Operate four transportation-related training programs, Heavy Equipment Operations, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Stationary Engineer and Basic Asphalt Paving, at 11 sites nationally, as well as an Advanced Asphalt Paving program, in accordance with policy and requirements stipulated by the National Office of Job Corps, U.S. Department of Labor.
