KEKUAOKALANI GYMNASIUM COURT IMPROVEMENTS

The County of Hawai'i Department of Parks and Recreation is soliciting bids for project PR-4958, the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium Court Improvements. The scope of work includes selective demolition of existing athletic flooring, the installation of a FIBA and FIVB preapproved synthetic sports court system over existing maple flooring and concrete, and the replacement of motorized telescopic bleachers with free-standing tip and roll bleachers. The project also encompasses associated painting, patching with asbestos-free materials, and improvements to approximately 19 adjacent parking stalls. Bids are due by 2:00 p.m. HST on October 15, 2026, and must be submitted electronically via the OpenGov Procurement Portal. Award will be granted to the responsive and responsible offeror submitting the lowest bid. Eligible bidders must possess a valid State of Hawai'i General Building Contractor's License B and must submit a notarized Standard Qualification Questionnaire for Offerors at least 48 hours before the bid opening. Additionally, a Notice of Intention to Bid is required ten calendar days prior to the deadline. The contract requires performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price, unless the bid is below the 50,000 dollar small purchase threshold. Contractors must adhere to prevailing wage requirements, ADA accessibility guidelines, and Title VI nondiscrimination regulations. Payment is processed monthly based on a Schedule of Values and requires the submission of daily activity reports and certified payroll.
