The Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center San Diego plans to award a firm fixed price, sole source contract to Thermal Spray Solutions, Inc. for the repair of 16 Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) shafts used by Assault Craft Unit-5 at MCB Camp Pendleton. These repairs are critical to maintaining the operational readiness of LCACs, which are high-speed, amphibious landing crafts capable of carrying heavy payloads and supporting various military operations. The contract is justified under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) due to Thermal Spray Solutions being the only responsible source able to fulfill the unique repair needs, with an anticipated award date on or before February 14, 2025. Failure to award this contract would negatively impact the mission capability of ACU-5. Although this is not a solicitation for competitive quotes, interested sources may submit capability statements demonstrating their qualifications, including management, technical expertise, cost information, and proof of authorization to distribute the product. These statements must be submitted electronically by 8:00 AM PST on February 6, 2025, to the designated government point of contact, Charles E. Bruce, with strict formatting and length guidelines. The government will use this information solely to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement or continue with the sole source award. No telephone inquiries or offers will be accepted. The NAICS code associated with this contract is 811310, covering automotive repair and maintenance services.
