The contract involves a sole source award by the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Acquisition Management Department for the final phase of office remodeling and supply. Valued at $149,166.35, this procurement addresses urgent and compelling needs for equipment, services, and supplies related to office machinery and furniture. The award continues a prior task order and is executed under a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Navy contract, ensuring consistency with the initial phase of the project. The decision to award solely to HON was made under FAR 6.301, as the government determined that only one responsible source could satisfy the agency’s requirements. This contract was awarded in the best interest of the government, prioritizing quality, design, and technical conformity over price, though price was evaluated as fair and reasonable during the FSS contract process. The procurement uses simplified acquisition procedures (SAP) and explicitly states that this announcement is a notice of award—not a solicitation. Prospective contractors interested in similar future opportunities are invited to express interest, but no competitive quotes or offers are being solicited for this particular contract. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense through the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center located in Bethesda, Maryland.
