Full Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Paul District requires a contractor to transport, dry dock, inspect (including ultrasonic hull testing), make required repairs and improvements to, and paint the M/V Warioto, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers twin screw towboat. The Warioto is in need of hull repairs in the general area near where the Kort nozzles penetrate through the aft stern tank. Due to vibration the Kort nozzle has caused fractures in the bottom hull plating. Additionally, the contractor will install four (4) fuel sight gauges (supplied by the Government) into the fuel tanks. Furthermore, the aft two fuel tanks will need 3 - pipe couplings welded into the lower and upper part of the two aft tanks (9 Total). Repairs to the hull, underwater propulsion system, and other areas will be made using options, once the estimates have been approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in writing. The contractor will be responsible for transporting the M/V Warioto from a location (to be determined) between UMRM 734 Lacrosse WI & 698 Fountain City WI to their dry dock facility. The vessel fuel tanks will be emptied and cleaned. Contractor is not permitted to operate vessel under its own power. Upon completion of work the contractor is responsible for the return of the barges to a location (to be determined by the Government) between UMRM 698 & 734.
